Following the consideration and approval of the divisions and councils of the scientific departments of the Academy, the proposed research projects are submitted to the vice presidents of the Academy to refer them to the Research Council and Scientific Council for final approval. Then the project managers can conduct their research projects.

The Research Council will consider and approve the projects that address the stated duties and objectives of the Academy, and the macro challenges and major scientific issues of the country, or propose strategies for resolving the macro issues and community problems. Based on Iran’s 20-year Economic Perspective, the following topics are considered the macro policies of the research in the Academy:

• Presenting scientific methods for the advancement of the country on the basis of scientific and Islamic criteria
• Presenting scientific methods for resolving macro problems of the country and determining the future needs
• Presenting methods for the development of science and technology
