Chaired by Prof. Davari Aradakani and attended by the fellows, the 119^th meeting of the General Assembly of the Academy was held on September 21^st.

After the approval of the previous meeting's minutes, the associate membership of Prof. Hamid Reza Pooretemad from the Department of Human Sciences and Prof. Abdollah Aghaei from the Department of Engineering Sciences were considered and approved by ballot for a four-year term.

Moreover, the associate memberships of three associate fellows of the Department of Veterinary Sciences were extended for a further four-year term.

Finally, the members of the Academy discussed and exchanged views on "Future Universities and the Future of Universities".  Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani, in turn, presented a speech on the responsibility of the universities in the new era and their role for the future of societies. Then Prof. Mohammad Shahedi enumerated some university challenges.
