Chaired by Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani, the 131st meeting of the General Assembly of the Academy was held on Thursday, September 15th. The attendees included 43 fellows.

 

Following the approval of the previous meeting's minutes, Prof. Abbas Shakeri, fellow of the Department of Human Sciences of the Academy, delivered a speech entitled "Considerations on Methodology in Iran's Economy". Then, Prof. Jawad Faiz, fellow of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy, presented a speech on the “Production of Electrical Energy from the Wind".

 

In another part of the meeting, the topic of selecting the elites of the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 of the Academy to receive the First Governmental Medal of Science was raised. In this regard, Prof. Reza Faraji Dana, Secretary of the Academy, explained the history of the selection of the elites of the academies to receive the First Governmental Medal of Science and stated that the government has agreed to award the First Governmental Medal of Science to the elites of the Academy of Sciences.

 

The secretary of the Academy further explained the selection process of the elites of the Academy based on the approved regulations. Then, the candidate of the scientific departments for each year was introduced by the chairs of the departments. Finally, by secret ballot, the following candidates were chosen to receive the First Governmental Medal of Science:

- Prof. Morteza Khosh-khui, fellow of the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Academy for the year 2019
- Prof. Seyed Hossein Safai, fellow of the Department of Human Sciences of the Academy for the year 2010
- Prof. Gholam Reza Aavani, fellow of the Department of Islamic Sciences of the Academy for the year 2021
- Prof. Mohammad Reza Eslami, fellow of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy for the year 2022
