The 475th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held on November 12th.

Having approved the minutes of the previous meeting, the council ratified the extension of the collaboration of four invited scholars with the Department of Basic Sciences, one invited scholar with the Department of Agricultural Sciences and five invited scholars with the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy for a further two-year term.

The meeting continued with the approval of the extension of the natural memberships of Profs. Shahedi, Akhavan and Pasalar in the Scientific Council of the Center for Science and Technology Studies of the Academy for a further two-year term.

The council also discussed and adopted the following items:

- Prof. Amir Albadavi's request for having a six-month sabbatical leave at the Academy
- The proposal of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy to set up an interdisciplinary workgroup on "Marine Science and Technology" with the cooperation of the other departments of the Academy with the aim of making general policies
